Dratini

COMPLETED: 71 GOAL: 649

Original pattern located at http://cdbvulpix.blogspot.com. Good pattern, really didn't have to make any major changes. I did make the body longer and to go along with it, the belly. For the body I added 3 rows to rows 15-39, 1 row to row 41 and row 43 (total of 5 rows added). For the belly I added a row to rows 13-16, rows 18-21, rows 23-26, rows 28-31 and rows 32-35 (total of 5 rows added). I made the horn a bit smaller, started with 4 sc in magic ring rather then 6 and instead of making another row, I weaved the tail thru the loops and tighten the loops a bit.. The ears I got a bit confused with, so I made my own.

Ears: (make 2)
Ch 4, sc 2nd ch from hook and next 2 chs, ch 1, turn (3)
Row 1: sc next 2 sc next, sc next, ch 1, turn (4)
Row 2: sc next, 2 sc next 2, sc next, ch 1, turn (6)
Row 3: sc next 2, 2 sc next 2, sc next 2, ch 1, turn (8)
Row 4: sc next 3, 2 sc next 2, sc next 3, ch 1, turn (10)
Row 5: sc next 3, 2 sc next 4, sc next, hdc next, dc next, ch 2, turn (14)
Row 6: dc next, hdc next, sc next 3, 2 sc next 4, sc next 3, sl st next 2, ch 1, turn (18)
Row 7: sl st next 2, *dec over next 2* repeat twice, 2 sc next 4, *dec over next 2* repeat twice, sc next, dc next 2 (18)
FO

The 2 dc at the end of row 7, should be towards the top of head. Fold the ears to create the fold running down the center of the ear.

Thanks for the pattern!

Gengar

COMPLETED: 70 GOAL: 649

When I was looking for pictures of Gengar's back, I found quite a few versions that were different. Some had a few spikes, some had more, others looked more like spiky hair rather then individual spikes. I settled on using the spikes in a ridge pattern. My original body was too small to fit all the spikes, so I modified my pattern .The pictures are the original patten, so they won't show the correct number of spikes.

Gastly

COMPLETED: 68 GOAL: 649

Here is a fun and quick Pokemon to make. Instead of using yarn for the 'gas', I used the polyfil and spray painted it.

Materials: crochet hook, purple and pink yarn, white, black and pink felt, polyfil, purple spray paint

Head:
With purple, 6 sc in magic circle (6)
Row 1: 2 sc in each sc around (12)
Row 2: sc next sc, 2 sc next sc, around (18)
Row 3: sc next 2 sc. 2 sc next sc, around (24)
Row 4: sc next 3 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (30)
Row 5: sc next 4 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (36)
Row 6: sc next 5 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (42)
Row 7: sc next 6 sc, 2 sc next sc, around (48)
Row 10-14: sc in each sc around (48)
Row 15: sc next 6 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (42)
Row 16: sc next 5 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (36)
Row 17: sc next 4 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (30)
Row 18: sc next 3 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (24)
Begin stuffing.
Row 19: sc next 2 sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (18)
Row 20: sc next sc, decrease over next 2 sc, around (12)
Row 21: decrease over next 2 sc, around (6)
FO Weave tail thru loops and pull closed.

Finish: I created the gas using a technique similar to making a latch hook rug. I've added some pictures to help with my description. Fill in a little less then half of Gastly.

Step 1: Insert crochet hook under stitch.

Step 2: Wrap a piece of polyfil around hook and pull under stitch. The polyfil can be at different lengths. You will trim it up later when you have finished putting on all the pieces.

Step 3: Continue pulling one end of  the polyfil under the stitch, while holding the other end.

Continue around Gastly until you feel that it has good coverage. You don't need to do every stitch, just enough to cover up the head. If you want to secure the polyfil you can place a small amount of glue at each base (where the two ends come up under the stitch). Once you finish pulling thru all the polyfil, you can trim it or fluff it more. However you want Gastly to look.

Next take some newspaper and tape and cover the face of Gastly. You will want to get as close to the polyfil as you can, so don't get any spray paint on his face. Once done you can begin to spray paint the 'gas" Start with a light coat and let dry. You can give it more coats of paint until you reach the darkness you prefer. You can leave the tips a little lighter and the valleys a little darker. The spray paint will stiffen the polyfil, so make sure you have the 'gas' arranged the way you want before beginning to paint. Once your paint has dried, remove the tape and newspaper. You are ready to make the face.

Cut two eyes out of white felt and two pupils out of black felt. Cut a mouth out of pink felt and two teeth out of white felt. The teeth sit on the very ends of the mouth. The eyes do not sit flat on the face, they actually stick out. So when you are ready to glue them on, just glue the inside tip of the eye to the face.  Embroider two small lines between eyes and two lines under eyes with pink yarn. If you want to add a line to the outside of the eyes. Cut two small pieces out of pink yarn (about 1/2") and glue to outside edge of each eye. Once the glue has dried. bend back the eyes to form a slight curve.

Azurill

COMPLETED: 66 GOAL: 649

I'm still working on a couple of Pokemon that have me stumpted, so I thought I would post Azurill. I actually made him awhile ago, but hadn't posted yet. I was inspired by the game Pokepark 1. I thought he was pretty cute bouncing on his tail throughout the game. So I created him with that in mind. You will need some pipe cleaners to create his kinky tail.
